www.efma.org The European Fertiliser Manufacturers Association (EFMA) site has various publications that can be downloaded on the effective use, storage and handling of fertilizers.
 
www.agindustries.org.uk  The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) site with fertilizer statistics, fertilizer-related publications, the new Fertiliser Industry assurance scheme (FIAS) and other issues.
 
www.pda.org.uk Site of the Potash Development Association (PDA) with downloadable documents including the PDA advisory leaflet series.
 
www.planet4farmers.co.uk Site where PLANET recommendation software can be ordered or updated and where related meetings and other events are listed.
 
www.fertiliser-society.org  The International Fertiliser Society site with searchable lists of conference Proceedings and links to many other fertilizer-related sites.
 
www.environment-agency.gov.uk  A particularly useful section on this site is Netregs that explains requirements for compliance with current environmental legislation. At the home page, select the Business sector then Netregs then Sector information then Agriculture. Alternatively, go direct to www.netregs.environment-agency.gov.uk.
 
www.defra.gov.uk  Amongst the material at the Defra web site is a set of common technical questions about NVZs and the Defra responses. These are at www.defra.gov.uk/environment/water/quality/nitrate/faq-action.htm#140
 
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has developed a site that provides advice on ensuring that fertiliser products do not fall into the wrong hands. This can be found at www.secureyourfertiliser.gov.uk.
 
www.environmentsensitivefarming.co.uk  This Defra-funded site gives information on nutrient, manure and soil management, and details of forthcoming regional meetings.
 
www.crosscompliance.org.uk This site provides details for cross compliance including all relevant publications such as guidance for soil management.
 
www.rothamsted.bbsrc.ac.uk   The Rothamsted Research site with details of current research, forthcoming events and training opportunities.
 
www.ceep-phosphates.org  Site of the phosphate industry research association with information on phosphorus recycling. Offers free subscription to the SCOPE newsletter that is distributed by email with information on legislation and research projects related to phosphate.
 
Models that provide nitrogen, phosphate and potash recommendations for a range of vegetable crops are available at www.qpais.co.uk. The models are based on research at HRI.
 
www.basis-reg.com The new BASIS web site is now operating.
 
www.snh.org.uk/tibre Scottish Natural Heritage site that shows how economic farming practices can be used to benefit the environment.
